Salutations!        

     Remember when your only mail came with a 13 cent stamp, gas was 30 cents a gallon, and 4th of July included ambrosia salad?
   
     Well there I was this past week, standing in the middle of the quintessential town of Bristol Vermont watching preparations for their 4th of July parade.   The American flags were billowing while the new war memorial was hurriedly being completed and when at noon the proud white church rang out the tune Stars & Stripes Forever, I was sure that I had indeed made a trip back in time.

     And yet, how fascinating for me to witness the delicate balance of our much-loved celebration of independence with the dependence of living together in community. 

Independence + Dependence = The Yoga of Inter-dependence

Community Yoga     This union of polarities is forever at the heart of yoga.  And this particular day allows us the opportunity to notice our freedom of choice when balancing solitude and convergence.
     May this month's array of Yoga offerings inspire your own awakening to that balance between independence & dependence.  

Happy good old-fashioned Interdependence Day!
